boci is a Bristol based violinist and songwriter creating genre-bending contemporary folk. Her use of violin loops, synths and effects pedals allows her to create cinematic, layered textures which evolve into dynamic full band arrangements. Classically trained, boci uses her violin freely and expressively as another voice, taking inspiration from folk playing styles. boci's music is deeply connected to her relationship with the natural world and time spent walking in the mountains of Scotland, Wales and the Lake District.
After the release of her courageously raw debut album we are each other, this will set us free in 2022, boci has cemented herself as a staple of the alt-folk scene in Bristol and beyond. She's played two UK headline tours (selling out multiple venues) and is embarking on a third one in May to celebrate the release of her sophomore album.
Forthcoming album scenes from uniXia (out 30.05.25) steps into a bold, maximalist musical vision set in a faraway world. Drawing inspiration from ancient myths and existential quests, the album weaves a tapestry of musical narratives that traverse the landscapes of self-annihilation, rebirth and transformation. Themes of loss, longing, healing, and hope run throughout the album.
